why the name?

It all started on a drawing table back in 1987, working on an illustration for the Konica San Jose Classic, and trying to think of a company name.

Ralph and Alice, two spritely canaries, had spring fever. Suddenly, there were 14 thimble-sized, yellow-feathered fluff balls serenading me in the studio. Hmmm.. "Yellowbird..", I thought.

Then I started humming the tune I remembered my grandmother playing on her ukulele when I was a child.. and how her car, a yellow and white 56(?) Pontiac, was nicknamed "Yellowbird."
